What we collect, what we don’t, and how to get your data back out.

Last updated 15 September 2026. JobDesk is run by Wide Ocean Ventures LLC, San Diego, California.

The short version. We don’t sell your data, we don’t share it with advertisers, and there are no tracking cookies on this website. The jobs, addresses and photos in the app belong to your shop, not to us — you can export all of it whenever you like, and you can tell us to delete it.

If you fill in the form on this website

The waitlist form asks for your shop name, your name, your email, your phone number, how many techs you have, and anything you want to tell us. You choose what to put in it; only the email is required.

We also store a scrambled version of your IP address — not the address itself. It is there to stop one bot filling the form a thousand times, and it cannot be turned back into your address.

Two emails go out when you submit it: one to us so somebody calls you, and one to you confirming you’re on the list. That’s it. You will not be added to a newsletter.

The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which is there to tell a person from a bot. It is the only third-party code on this page. There is no Google Analytics here, no Facebook pixel, no advertising tags, and no cookies that follow you anywhere.

If your shop uses the app

Then your shop is the one putting information in, and it stays yours. We hold it so the app works. We do not look through it, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train anything.

Your jobs Customer names, addresses and phone numbers, what the problem was, what your tech did, parts, times, prices, invoices — whatever your shop types in.
Photos and video Whatever your crew takes on a job, and whatever the office adds afterwards.
Who signs in Your people’s names, their role, and an email address or a username. Your crew sign in with a username and need no email address at all.
How the app is used Which screen was opened and when, so we can tell whether the app is actually being used. This records screen names only — the database physically refuses to store anything else in it.
When something breaks What went wrong, on which screen, on which version. The message is stripped on the phone before it is sent, and the database rejects it outright if anything that looks like an email address, a phone number or a customer record gets through.

Who else touches it

We are a small company running on other people’s infrastructure. These are the only companies involved, and each one only does the job next to its name:

SupabaseThe database, the sign-ins and the photo storage. United States.
Fly.ioRuns the apps themselves. San Jose, California.
CloudflareThe domain, the anti-bot check on the form, and the nightly backup copy of photos.
ResendSends email — password resets, and invoices if you send them from the app.
Google WorkspaceOur own mailboxes, so email to us has to land somewhere.
US Census BureauTurns a job’s street address into a point on a map, so the office can see where the day’s work is. A government service; its data is public domain. The address is sent; the customer’s name and phone number are not.
OpenFreeMapDraws the map itself in the office app, from OpenStreetMap data. It receives the part of the world being looked at — the same as any map you open — and nothing about the customer. No account, no key, no cookies.

Nobody else. We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone’s marketing list, and we never will — that is not a promise about our current plans, it is what the business is.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. We don’t act on it, because there is nothing here to switch off. We do not follow you across other websites and we have no advertising or analytics code that could. We are required to tell you how we respond to that signal, and that is the honest answer.

For the same reason, no third party collects personal information about you across other websites through this site.

Getting your data out, or deleted

Export it yourself, any time. In the office app: Settings → Export your data. Every job, address, customer and part comes out as spreadsheets you can open without us. No limits, no asking first, no notice period. Photos are not in that export yet — we are building it; in the meantime, ask us and we will get them to you.

Ask us to delete it at hello@thejobdesk.app and we will, within 30 days. Export first — once it is gone it is gone.

One honest detail, because it will surprise somebody otherwise: photos are backed up nightly to a second location, and that copy is never deleted. It works that way on purpose, so that a mistake or a break-in cannot wipe out a shop’s photographs. If you ask us to delete your shop’s data, we delete the live copy immediately and the backup copy within 90 days.

How long we keep it

For as long as your shop uses JobDesk, because it is the record of work you did — a photo of what was behind a wall in 2024 is worth something in 2031. If you leave, we keep it for 30 days so you can still get it out, then delete it. Database backups are held for 7 days; photo backups as described above.

Children

JobDesk is a tool for trade businesses and the people who work in them. It is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect anything from children.

California

We are a California company and this is written to meet California’s online privacy law. We are well under the size at which the California Consumer Privacy Act applies — it starts at $26.6 million in revenue, or 100,000 Californians’ data, or making half your money selling data, and we are none of those. We have checked, and we will re-check every year. We do not sell or share personal information, which is the part most of that law is about.

If this page changes

We change the date at the top. If the change is one that actually affects you, we email the address we hold for you before it takes effect. We will not quietly rewrite what we do with your data.

Asking us something

Email hello@thejobdesk.app and a person answers.
